Turmeric, Mangos, Honey, and Dirt

As the teeny tiny handful of my followers who actually read my writing know, I have been talking a lot lately about Earthing (rhymes with Earthling). I had known the basic principles of Earthing for many years but I was not consciously practicing it except for a few times each summer. Then a month or so ago I watched the documentary, Earthing, and I learned more about Earthing — or grounding — that I didn’t know, including all the scientific basics about it.
Since then I have been practicing Earthing every single day. (I have not missed a single day since then.) Every day I spend between 15 and 30 minutes walking barefoot on the ground (Mother Gaia’s skin). In addition to touching the Earth with my bare feet, I also have increased my tree-hugging activities — another way of grounding. After all this time I can say with all truthfulness that I have already experienced the incredible benefits of Earthing.
One of the benefits of Earthing is that it seriously reduces inflammation in the body. Inflammation is behind so, so many of the physical problems we Earthlings experience. While arthritis usually has past physical trauma as a primary cause, it is inflammation that makes it so much worse.
I’ve ‘suffered’ from arthritis in my left knee and ankle for some years now. That is where I experienced severe physical trauma many years ago. The arthritis has been slowly getting worse the older I get.
Well, since I’ve been Earthing every single day that arthritis has almost completely disappeared! I’m guessing around 98%. Not only is this great news but it certainly encourages me to continue Earthing every day.

I love this time of year. Why? Because it is mango season! Mangos and peaches are my two favorite fruits. I could eat these fruits every single day if only they were in season all the time. For the last couple of months I’ve been eating mangos almost every day. At this time of year that is how I start my day.

From time to time I also consume turmeric. I don’t really care for the taste of this spice but I try to add some to a piece of toast or something when I remember to. One bite loaded with it is about all I can take. As it turns out turmeric is one of the strongest anti-inflammatory substances eaten by Earthlings. People from India swear by its medicinal qualities.
For the past few weeks I’ve been consuming turmeric every single day.

Since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic panic I have done plenty of research. I learned that one of the best ways to not succumb to the virus is to have a strong, healthy immune system. I also learned that one of the best ways to succumb to it is to be in a state of utter fear. Fear compromises one’s immune system more intensely than almost anything else.
So I have tried my darndest to stay out of fear and I have been looking for ways to strenghten my immune system.
In my research I checked out many perspectives on health, both ancient and modern, from around the world.

Just recently I came across some old Indian ‘remedies’ for strengthening one’s immune system that have been around for hundreds if not thousands of years. (By Indian I mean, from India.) I learned that there are three ‘pillars’ of strengthening the immune system which I am compelled to share. As I read this information I could not help but laugh my ass off (or to put it grammatically correct; laugh off my ass). It turned out that I was already doing these things to some degree.
The first pillar is grounding (or Earthing as it is now suddenly called). It was recommended to spend at east one hour a day barefoot on the ground (Mother Gaia’s skin) and not only that but to also get one’s hands into the dirt. It is imperative to get dirt under one’s fingernails. There are mini chakras in both our feet and our hands. All of those chakras must come into contact with dirt, soil, mud, or whatever you want to call Mother Gaia’s skin, on as near a daily basis as possible.
How could I not laugh? That’s exactly what I was doing — although not to the extent recommended. I was walking barefoot and hugging trees like crazy but my delicate hands weren’t getting dirty.
Sometimes in India very sick people would be stripped naked and placed in vats of mud.

The second ‘pillar’ was a certain beverage. It’s not exactly a tea but somewhat similar. It’s a combination of warm water, turmeric, and honey. Wow! I have all those ingredients in my home but I have never combined them — until now.
The literature warned that honey should never be combined with hot boiling water… ever! The water must be allowed to cool down to the point where it is just warm before the honey and turmeric are added. The honey is for the heart and the turmeric is for the rest of the body. It is considered a very powerful boost to the immune system. It was recommended that this beverage be taken 2 to 5 times a day.
(Warning: the Surgeon General does not recommend this. Of course he doesn’t. The Surgeon General is the front man for the American pharmaceutical industry. Instead of strengthening our immune system, the Surgeon General would rather we cower in utter fear in our homes (with no fresh air) and just wait until the pharmaceutical industry comes up with a magic pill — or magic vaccine. We have been trained all our life to always look outside of ourselves for pills to put band-aids on all the symptoms we get from not taking responsibility for our own health and allowing our immune systems to degenerate.)
The third ‘pillar’ of strengthening one’s immune system? It is to eat raw, fresh mangos on as near a daily basis as possible.
Check.
