Turkey Day

Memories

The table was set We waited all day For the food to be cooked Then we ended our play

Adults at the big table The folding table had us The food all spread out It was all such a fuss.

Potatoes were mashed The vegetables were hot Without cranberry sauce Thanksgiving, it was not

Dad had the knives All sharpened just now Making wonderful slices All perfect, somehow

We stuffed ourselves silly And went back for more With room for dessert Of that, we were sure

Now when I eat turkey I reminisce and I see All my family and friends And their importance to me
