Trying new things by starting from reviewing what you did last year
Think, learn, and discovery

Although I review what I create each month, I don’t go back and see them often.
Do you usually do it?
After taking a different approach yesterday, I thought about these. I could use it to change how I create content and images. If I proceed with it, this may bring more feelings and attachment to what I create regularly.
I’ve been thinking about what to create for the next Finding the Differences between Two Images (which I have continued for months, see them Here) and images for my Ko-fi page.
For these monthly entertainments I’ve been working on, I was thinking about pulling a few images out of my stock I created earlier this year and from last year to add some features on top of them.
These are the ones I reviewed:
- A retro see-through cup and the ice cube container
I eventually created a see-through coffee cup, coffee ice cubes and other objects to make the first one of the series: Finding the Differences Between the Two.

- The images I created in December last year were for another finding-the-difference challenge. I thought about it last week. I thought about choosing one of those to give it an extended story.

- Then, a few images popped into my mind. Those could be suitable for my Ko-fi page.

If you haven’t visited my Ko-fi page, please do. If you decide to support me today, big thanks to you!!
Then I created some images.
I saved some images and deleted a few after trying and changing them. All gave me some ideas.
Aside from creating images…
Last week was really hot.
Have you been using the AC of an electric fan?
I’m using an e-fan these days until the next heat hits, and it has been working hard.
AC is a quick and easy way to cool down the room temperature. I know.
I’ll wait. It could be until sometime this week. I’ll then hit the START button and relax. I know. I will instantly indulge in the cool air.
How nice!
Not today.
The good news I just heard was: today won’t be as hot as last week. So, yeah, the AC controller is sitting a bit far from where I’m right now, typing this.
A nice cup of hot coffee with hot milk did not make me sweat this morning. But a hot meal in the morning did. I’ll have to depend on my e-fan and probably take a nap.
And I did, and a good nap energized me.
Besides being creative with my image creation, I also tried to be creative with my cooking last week.
- Making rice balls
I felt very hot while shaping the rice with my hands, using newly made rice.
I used seaweed papers, salt, and something I found in the refrigerator to put inside and outside of the rice ball.
The sweetness, saltiness and freshness from the herb (Ooba/Shiso) elevated my appetite. I ended up making four small ones and shared one.
- Making pasta
I used to make pasta using lots of water and salt in deep and shallower pans. I put good amount of salt into the boiling water, drop your favorite dried pasta into the pan, and drain them after some minutes.
What I have been doing these days is different and time-saving.
Instead of going through these steps, I reverse the first and the last steps — first, washing dried pasta in a small bowl (depending on the servings) and drain it several times before pouring hot water to just about cover it or a little less to cook in the microwave. It all depends on how many and how much of the ingredients I want. I adjust the amount of hot water, oil, salt and cook them together in the microwave.
So here is the story after looking back at these two images and opening again and editing one of them.

After receiving the cap and the toy from his owner’s family last December, he became so attached to them.
He sometimes sleeps with a toy and a cap.
He loves being on the sofa wrapped in a comfortable blanket when his owner is out.
He loves following his owner most of the time. He would pretend to be sleeping when he suspects his owner is preparing stuff to take him to the vet.
Today is no different.
His owner and the family are up early in the morning. They are having a fun conversation and planning something exciting.
They all got their easy and yummy breakfast at a dining table, and they grabbed their coffee and walked to the garden.
He knows they will stay outside for a while, and talk about making their new garden beautiful, so he follows.
He pulls his little bed, trying to be close with them but not leaving his favorite things behind. He also intends to enjoy the sunlight outside while watching them.

Try and find FIVE differences between the two images.
I will reveal the answer by the end of this month.
Stay tuned!
Lastly, I found reusing the image to dig deeper or extend the story is a mysterious way of cultivating stories, learning something new, and exciting me to see new possibilities.
Hi, I’m Kaori. I use the open source called Blender to create 3D objects on my PC screen, then output them as PNG, JPEG, or animated ones once in a while, like GIF. If you enjoyed a story like this, subscribe or support me through my Ko-fi page.
Thank you for reading and listening!
