Try Writing the Traditional Way
Handwriting a draft of an article has its benefits
I have noticed that handwriting an article draft before I type it out does make a big difference. Writing by hand increases memory retention and understanding according to research conducted by Pam Mueller of Princeton University and Daniel Oppenheimer of the University of California, Los Angeles.
Here is a list of the benefits of writing an article, poem or story, the traditional way:
- Handwriting improves memory and recall.
- The confidence and the dexterity of a writer improve.
- Writing things down by hand is good for stress relief.
- Making writing a regular habit helps in creativity, learning and keeps the brain sharp.
- Writing about feelings and emotions can improve the writer’s mood, as well as give a sense of well-being.
- Writing improves the feeling of gratitude in a writer when he or she writes about subjects they feel grateful for in their own lives.
- The writer increases productivity.
- A writer will gain more of an awareness of his or her reality.
- Handwriting improves decision-making.
- The happiness of the writer increases exponentially.
After reading the above 10 points would you consider handwriting your next article.
It is time-consuming to handwrite an article, story, or poem and then type it for publishing.
Personally, I prefer to handwrite my notes and then assemble them all together for my final composition.
Whatever your decision may be as a writer, always bear in mind that handwriting a literary piece the traditional way has several appealing benefits.
