I’ve discovered a set of habits that help me stay fit and energized while working as a data engineer. If you like what you read, consider following my simple daily routine to lead a healthier life.
Morning:
As I start my day, I prepare a nutritious breakfast. Three eggs and two fruits are on the menu. It’s a quick and easy way to get the right nutrients to kickstart the day.
The menu will remain the same for at least four days a week. The remaining three days will be covered by Idli, Dosa, Puri, Chapati, or Bread with Peanut Butter. My taste buds enjoy sliced peanut butter with bread, but my brain tends to avoid it.
After breakfast, I make sure to set my intention for the day. This helps me stay focused and organized as a data engineer.
During the Day:
While working, I often take a short break to enjoy a 15-minute nature walk. It’s refreshing to breathe in the fresh air and admire the natural beauty around me.
In the office, I opt for the stairs instead of the elevator whenever possible. It’s a simple way to keep my heart healthy and maintain some physical activity during a desk-bound job.
Lunchtime:
During lunch, I try to find a spot with some natural light. Those 15 minutes in the early afternoon sun give me an energy boost and help me stay focused on my work.
I will have a small piece of sweet after lunch to help sharpen my brain and improve my focus on tasks.
Throughout the Day:
In the dynamic world of data engineering, it’s vital not to take things personally :-). I keep this in mind as I interact with colleagues and handle challenging tasks.
Evening:
When the workday is over, I prioritize quality time with my family and friends. It’s during these moments that I unwind and connect with my loved ones.
My spouse and I regularly sit down to discuss family matters, making collective decisions. This teamwork is essential for maintaining a harmonious household.
Nighttime:
Before heading to bed, I ensure I’m well-hydrated. Drinking enough water throughout the day keeps me focused and ready for the next day’s challenges.
And finally,
every weekend, I indulge in a well-deserved slice of pizza. It’s my reward for a week of hard work, and it adds a touch of joy to my routine.
