Trump Takes Away Transgender Health Care Civil Rights As He Panders to Racists with Rally Scheduling on Massacre Anniversaries
Another reason to not vote for the racist and homophobic GOP in the fall. Trump will never change and won’t stop being a threat to humanity. He will just get worse if he is re-elected.
Donald Trump and his GOP administration are continuing their campaign promises to discriminate against minorities.
The latest in a string of dog whistles is Trump’s removal of health care civil rights protections for transgender patients during Pride Month.
“A rule finalized on Friday by the Department of Health and Human Services means that the federal government no longer recognizes gender identity as an avenue for sex discrimination in health care.”

Other dog whistles — or more like fog horn calls — have been other symbolic gestures to his base that he doesn’t care about civil rights in any form.
Donald Trump this past week scheduled a rally on Juneteenth in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the site where black people were attacked by racists in 1925 in the Tusla Race Massacre. Trump pretended like he didn’t know what he was up to when he picked that particular date and location for his coronavirus super-spreader convention. Attendees must sign a waiver holding Trump harmless should they die from coronavirus showing he is consistent in not caring for humans.
Adding to the horrific week of hateful signaling is Donald Trump’s scheduling of his Jacksonville, Florida acceptance speech on the anniversary of “Ax Handle Saturday” where 200 racists attacked black civil rights protesters.
Trump cares for no human. People are just objects in his mind. He craves power and admiration from despots and dictators.
I am not necessarily worried about myself right now because I have privilege living in Trumplandia where we still have Medicaid expansion and local officials who are still responsive, but I know the slippery slope will continue. Medical care for everyone will get worse. Civil rights will continue to get worse. Police will be unleashed to wage war against citizens who the government doesn’t like. Weird militias will continue to pop up and take over statehouses in Blue States.
It is like living in Pyongyang in Trumplandia. We get a few crumbs because the GOP doesn’t want to completely alienate every voter in the US. They have to throw some bones to their voters, while still “owning the libs.” The Trumpists will continue to be progressively worse as time goes on. There is no redeeming them when their whole strategy is based on worshiping The Confederacy and 1930’s and 1940’s Germany.
Trump isn’t going to give up his authoritarian ways and wants an iron fist to crush his opponents.
Trump told police officers to rough up detainees during his campaign. Trump orders children to be held indefinitely in concentration camps in the desert southwest.
Trump ordered government forces to attack peaceful civil rights demonstrators so he could hold a Bible in front of a church during a campaign photo opportunity.
Trump is willing to withhold medical care for people he doesn’t like. Trans people, women, black people, the poor, and minorities.
There is no bottom to how far Trump will sink, conservative George Will wrote in the Washington Post.
Trump is causing a genocide with his willfulness in not acting to protect Americans from COVID-19, according to an epidemiologist.
Trump and the GOP must be voted out in November.
The current GOP will continue to destroy America from within by dividing people against each other and by denying them civil rights.
