Trump Announces Putin Will Attend His Inauguration
The president-elect outlines his plans for MAGA-America

It is November 6, 2024. The national networks have declared Donald J. Trump and Tim Scott president and vice-president elect. Major protests broke out in several cities, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Atlanta. But in a speech the morning after election day, Donald Trump outlined his plans for the future in an hour and thirty-six-minute speech from Mar-a-Lago, Trump did not mention the protests.
Trump's speech focused on the future. Setting aside mispronouncing "Venezuela" and "Yosemite" and lapsing into confused silence at several points, the speech was historic. It will mark a turning point—to the right—in American history.
Trump declared his win the biggest in the history of the world. A primarily white crowd packed into the Mar-a-Lago ballroom exploded with applause, even though Trump's win was narrow. The president-elect did not mention that President Biden had not yet conceded defeat or that Wisconsin, Michigan, Virginia, North Carolina, Nevada, and Arizona news outlets were reporting "voting irregularities." The Biden campaign indicated it will challenge the election results in "several states."
Despite being declared the winner, Trump was angry. His usually orange face was red. And he pointed at the camera several times to issue warnings to "those losers who tried to steal the election from me." Trump told the crowd the "election is not yet over," adding, "It will only be over when the vermin who have hated me because I'm successful are in jail."
Trump said he had "hard evidence" that the Department of Justice was working on overturning the election. He promised harsh retribution against anyone who attempted to interfere with the vote count. The president-elect also promised "swift and forceful prosecution" for anyone cooperating with the Biden challenge or publicly endorsing it. "This includes Taylor Swift," he hissed, "whose fame is dropping like a stone."
Trump demands Biden's resignation.
Trump demanded that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris immediately resign from office so that he can "begin to remake America" immediately. "This sorry pair needs to acknowledge that America has fired them. They need to get out of the way. Joe needs to check into an old folks home and wait for the Grim Reaper to catch up with him."
Trump indicated that if Biden resigned, he would not prosecute him unless "additional crimes" were discovered. He also announced that he would ask Kamala Harris to resign before Biden so that Biden could nominate him as vice president. Then, Trump said, the House would confirm him as vice president, a step that Trump indicated would make him president as soon as Biden followed with his own resignation.
Of course, Trump needed to be corrected about the House of Representatives confirming presidential appointments. He meant the Senate, where the new Majority Leader, J.D. Vance, would determine whether the Senate would act on Trump's plan. Vance is expected to announce his agreement with the plan later today.
Trump told the crowd, which started to thin out an hour into the speech, that he is already at work "remaking America into MAGA-America," despite not yet being in office.
Confirming expectations that Trump will pardon himself on Inauguration Day, Trump told attendees, "I have directed the Attorney General to fire Special Counsel Jack Smith and file motions to dismiss all federal indictments against me." Trump promised any Department of Justice employee who disobeyed his orders will face prosecution for treason. The White House and Department of Justice have not responded to Trump's requests.
Trump also announced that regardless of when he formally assumed the presidency, an inauguration ceremony would still be held at the Capitol on January 20, 2025. Trump promised "the most spectacular inauguration in history" and indicated the inaugural parade would feature "hundreds of tanks, missiles, and thousands and thousands of troops."
The president-elect surprised NATO allies and other foreign leaders by announcing that Vladimir Putin would attend the inauguration. Trump added, "By January 20, the war in Ukraine will be over, and the outlaw Zelensky will be in jail, assuming he is not dead. The United States will join with Russia in rebuilding Russia's Ukrainian province." Trump also promised to prosecute "American war criminals," including Joe Biden and Secretary of State Lloyd Austin, for their role in the death of more than 25,000 "Russian Patriots."
Other announcements in Trump's long speech included his support for states leaving the union. Trump's plan would require his personal approval and majority votes in the House and Senate. Trump indicated he would welcome "bastions of hatred for America, such as California, Oregon, Massachusetts, Maryland, and Vermont" leaving America. "We don't want you in our perfect country. Go away!" Trump's audience cheered.
Trump closed his speech by announcing he will pardon "the January 6 patriots and everyone else who struck a blow for truth and freedom." The remaining crowd in the ballroom, including several drunk men, cheered.
Trump was joined on stage by Donald Trump, Jr., who had just returned from an African safari on which he shot a white rhino, Eric Trump, and the soon-to-be vice president. Vice President-Elect Scott did not speak, and Melania Trump did not attend the speech.
