True love: Inner Self

Poetry Prompt Day:-4

You’ll always be my first love. There will be distractions. Infatuation with the guy on the bus. Serious attraction towards a politics professor.

Heartaches will bring us closer. You’ll always be my first love. No one else will know the extent of pain. As long as I’ll have your shoulder to cry.

New relationships will trample the heart ferociously. New sacrifices will be required to maintain relationships. You’ll always be my first love. There is no substitute for you, nor there ever be.

You have been faithful throughout my journey of love. You have been encouraging me to keep on trying new arenas of love. You have been healing me out of numerous heartaches. You’ll always be my first love.
