True Colours
A poem about being yourself
Take off your black suit
And let me see inside
Unbutton to the colour underneath
The colour you cover and hide
That black suit doesn’t work for you
You just blend into the crowd
They all cover their colour with that suit
How can conforming make you feel proud?
I heard that true colours are this season’s new black
Why not opt for a change
And break away from the pack?
Show me the true colour
I know is underneath
Step out of that black suit
Let your true colour breathe
