Tropical Vibes That Will Have You Craving the Sun
For when you are feeling nostalgic for the tropics
Living in Canada has been a dream.
I know, the weather is a huge turn-off for a lot of people, and to be honest, the cold was something I never thought I would get used to, but the nature here more than makes up for it.
I can’t get enough of the mountains, lakes, and pine forests; they are such a marvel of nature.
However, I can’t deny, as someone who does prefer summer, I do deeply miss the tropics.
I love tropical landscapes, dare I say they are one of my favorite types of nature. I miss turquoise blue seas, sparkling golden sand, and lush tropical flora.
I feel nostalgic when I look back at my pictures from past trips where I was soaking up the sun in warmer climates.
These are just a few of my favorite photos that transport me to sunnier destinations.
Fiji
One of my favorite places I have ever visited was Fiji.
It was a bucket list country that I am so glad I ticked off because I had the best time there.
The views were incredible, the locals are amazing and the nature is just spectacular.
I wrote an article about why you should visit Fiji, check it out below!
Jamaica
This is a place I need to revisit because I just had such a blast here too.
In the same vein as Fiji, the locals are so friendly and there was actually a lot to do here too.
I assumed I would spend half the time tanning on the beach but there are many day trips that can be done and are definitely worth exploring.
Samoa
Samoa was a fantastic trip because my friend and I visited both Upolu and Savai’i and drove around both islands stopping wherever we pleased.
I just felt so free traveling in this way and it was a great way to explore the islands.
It took us the whole day to drive around Savai’i, but Upolu had to be split into a few days.
Cook Islands
One of the most breathtaking ocean views I have ever seen in my life so far was in the Cook Islands.
This was a place that always seemed so out of reach but I finally made it there and it was well worth the wait. You really get that small island vibe when you are there.
The boat ride to Aitutaki was incredible, it felt like the boat was floating over crystals the whole time. You didn’t even need to snorkel to see the wildlife beneath the water.
Australia
Nothing screams tropical more than coral reefs and I was so lucky to be able to see them up close and personal and from the air.
Both boasted completely different views and were so beautiful in their own way.
The Great Barrier Reef in Australia is an amazing thing to be able to experience and it was another place for me to tick off my bucket list.
Thailand
The south of Thailand boasts the most beautiful beaches.
This picture is of Pi Leh Bay on Koh Phi Phi Island and it is a blue lagoon that is an extremely popular spot for tourists.
It was such a wonderful place to visit as we spent some time there snorkeling and swimming, and I remember looking out at the lagoon thinking how damn lucky I was to be there.
Even just writing this article has got me craving the tropics so badly, who knows maybe it will become a part of my plans soon, but until then I have my pictures and my memories to keep me going for now.
What is your favorite tropical destination that you have visited? I would love to hear your thoughts!
