Tree of Life Seeds

What’s planted isn’t always in your hands

Garden analogies and metaphors are a favorite reference point for my mind’s garden. If you’ve read any past posts, you can see these sprinkled throughout my writing — crayon gardens on my bedroom wall, artichoke flowers, and the mindfulness lessons from the bees. Preparing and taking care of my garden creates these synchronicities with my own growth to my garden. Often, moments after I arrive home from work, you can find me in the evening routine of garden checks, a ritual for seeing the progress of growth, what may need tending to, and the enjoyment of life.

In our personal tree of life garden, we don’t plant the seeds. We do not get to use the initial flowers or weeds planted. So our job is to tend to it and make it into our own. For me, that meant changing my mindset and looking at it backward or the opposite of what was planted. Instead of focusing on the seeds planted, resenting the garden we are given, and feeling stuck with the results. I started with the vision, the result I wanted. It is within that mindset we can grow a beautiful garden all of our own making.

I have an acronym for my action steps for my growth. A.I.M.! Affirmations, Intentions, Manifestations. I aim for the end result by having actions and intentions for the changes I want to make, especially in my mind’s garden.

I water it with affirmations. I check it with intentions. I enjoy the manifestation. If I follow my aim, I may not get what I envisioned all the time, but often it is better than I imagined. How can you aim for your mind’s garden?

And if these garden tips didn’t resonate with you, these might — just a different perspective on personalizing your garden. Your garden deserves your individualized attention. Same as no person is alike; no garden is the same. That is life.

Thank you Vicky for today’s prompt. I love visiting my garden!
