UNWIND
Traveling Solo
A great way to reset

Seen: Back at the OBX — North Carolina’s barrier islands — stretching 175 miles down the coast.
Heard: Blackbeard hung out here. So did the Wright Brothers, launching man’s first sustained, powered flight from a sand dune in Kill Devil Hills — not nearby Kitty Hawk, as some say.
Noted: The OBX — Outer Banks, for the uninitiated — vibe lends itself to “me” time. Walking, shelling, reading, writing. Traveling solo, I see beyond myself. Feel a little like the house above — alone, but beautiful, stronger.
And BTW, about “Kill Devil”? Blackbeard’s handle for rum.
Quoted: “No bird soars in calm,” said Wilbur Wright about taking flight down at the OBX. “We learn much by tribulation, and by adversity our hearts are made better.” No tribulations down here. Just happy.
