Hurry before they vomit the clouds down here – scrolling through fog the thickness of brain – ineluctable and raging – no payments of any kind are accepted for what you owe — please, return to the end of the line and try again –

Remarks from the gallery below your waist — you noticed there was no apology– tickled up and down shorts, jeans, hair…just hair like the Neanderthal had it – just fucking everywhere –

Bruising whole grocery bags – because you’re tired, is that it? – common question marks don’t reveal the frown – till later

And the skirt is down by the ankles – chafing from bedroom to the open kitchen window starting that winking shit – and let’s just go outside

Let’s alter rhythm because there’s really nothing left – you bothered on a typewriter with no ink pounding for the sound but not the whole effect – for too long

Change and go – standing stark still with semi-nude friend – where was I when I didn’t get to see –

Hopping home now with soured expectations – the draining moon goes riding on water – forget about me –

I don’t know how the rest of you feel about “jarring” your work, but it’s an activity my brain/muse trips me into a lot. One of the elements I like to use to create (judicious; I stress, judicious…ha.) jarrings in a piece, is by inserting dialogic fragments. It’s effectively a form of punctuation: you can make the reader pause, take a step back, etc. For today’s prompt, write a piece where you’ve broken up your narrative structure with dialogue (Vic is going to have fun; probably Jeff and Jesse, too. Winking…Hel. You all get to have fun with this!). Tag me in it, and rock on!
