Transforming evil
Evil is one of the most profound words that has become one of the most common in our world today. It has many different shapes and forms, and we aren’t limited to seeing it in just one of these. It also comes with various shades as well when you finally narrow it into a particular category, and it just gets more complicated. To make matters worse, it gets transmitted not by itself, but by humanity as a species.
Every single day, we experience evil in some aspect whether it occurs at our job, in our home, or even at school. It seems as though no matter how well we plan for our day to go, it always has to have hiccups of some sort. These evil hiccups then proceed to poison our lovely day and if we don’t have control over how we manage evil, it will ruin the day and further discourage it. Now let me just say, once your day is ruined by evil, it’s even easier for the next one to become ruined, and then your week, month, and even the rest of your year.
Let’s explore some of the common evils that we see each day to get a better understanding.
Traffic incidents
You know where a huge source of evil comes from? The daily commute on a city freeway. After a slow morning on a city freeway, it’s clear that many people become frustrated with a lengthy commute as a part of their day-to-day. The traffic is endless, and these folks’ patience grows thinner and thinner as they struggle to make it home. Now consider the fact that most of these folks jammed in the same spot make the same commute every single day. It’s clear that this is a recipe for disaster, but what sort of evils derive from this?
Well to be conclusive, road rage happens to be one of the worst evils we see out of this situation. Many people will honk at other road users, scream at them, and even race and jump in front of them without indicating that they need to change lanes. They’ll even tailgate people to try to coerce them to go faster, even knowing that if the person in front of them hits their brakes, they can become severely injured. It turns into an absolute fest of chaos and uncertainty, and then it gets worse.
Next thing you know, someone pulls a gun on someone else, and they get severely injured or even killed. Now everyone in traffic has become a frantic mess and they’re all praying that the police arrive within the next couple of seconds. You see, that is the very embodiment of evil itself. Those poor people in traffic have had their days ruined, and their hearts are racing and forever fearful of the situation repeating.
Confrontation
Have you ever had one of those moments when you disagree with someone and found the desire to counter them? We all have, it’s absolutely normal to disagree with someone and in some cases, it can be healthy to do so. Some of the most important input comes from disagreements and criticism, it’s absolutely essential for us as a species, and it’s one of the things that makes us unique.
Let me say this though, there is a difference between simply disagreeing respectfully, and doing so in a malignant or violent manner. The minute you decide to escalate the situation and maliciously attack someone for their opinion, you have entirely shifted the atmosphere. It’s no longer a simple conversation and is now a battle escalating into a war.
It goes without saying that when you choose this particular expression, you or whoever the offender may be, have generated evil. It’s toxic for a friendly conversation to turn into such an atrocity, and just once occurrence can guarantee that the two entities that erupted in verbal conflict will never speak to each other again. Though unfortunate, it’s true that this form of evil has become more common than we can be comfortable with.
Self-evil
You’ve heard of the term ‘self-confidence.’ It’s one of favorite terms, because it solidifies some of the best traits out of an individual. I have seen amazing people that were shy and anxious, blossom into the roses that they were always meant to be when they finally master self-confidence. Some of the greatest leaders in society have mastered the art of self-confidence and continue to do great things. But it has a direct counterpart, ‘self-evil,’ and let me just say that it is far from a pleasant trait.
Self-evil is self-created, and it is very complex to say the least. If you’ve ever sat at home depressed because life isn’t quite going the way that you wanted it to, it’s not a desirable feeling. You feel hopeless and unable to change your situation, almost entirely vanquished from society. So, do you choose to get up and make a change, or would you rather remain upset and stay in your current situation? If you have chosen the latter, then you have just committed an act of self-evil.
Whenever we do things that put our lives in a negative space or even inflict self-harm, we choose the path of self-evil. It makes our lives harder and its all simply because of our personal choice to do so. And it’s not simply limited to staying depressed, we could also choose to stay addicted to drugs, continue drinking, or being cruel to others who are just checking in because they care about us. It’s all self-evil, and I write to recognize it because a lot of us simply don’t understand that it is truly a form of evil in our lives.
When you read this, you should be thinking back upon your day about the types of evil that you encounter. Have you experienced any of the above-mentioned examples? Have you experienced evils that are perhaps even worse than what I have touched upon? These are the things that you must ponder upon.
So, when does the rainbow at the end of the sea of clouds come in? Well all you have to do is simply transform evil. It’s actually quite easy to do, allow me to show you below.
E V I L — L I V E
That’s right, all you have to do is live, and that has a definition that is the opposite of evil. When you are outside hiking or climbing a mountain for your weekend getaway, you are living the best lifestyle possible. Maybe you are out fishing on a boat ten miles off the coast and are catching record fish. Perhaps you are falling in love, and ready to take your relationship to the next level. Or quite possibly, you are having a feast with your closest friends and family members to celebrate an accomplishment, or to simply catch-up.
It can be quite difficult to unleash evil in some way, shape, or manner, and I completely get that. You just have to do your absolute best to make sure that you work on abandoning your inner-evil, or at least aim to suppress it. You have now learned that it poisons your life, and in so many different ways. Well, if you want to live a prolific and joyful life, stop letting it get the better of you.
Don’t look for things to quarrel about and don’t sabotage your happiness. Instead, look forward to the things that make you happy out of life. Keep yourself eager, and you’ll maintain the energy to completely reverse evil in your life.
