Tranquil Waters — Reflections on Life’s Bounty

Reflections of Gratefulness

By the whispering reeds of the patient pond, Where willows weep and fond memories bond, There lies a mirror, in the gentlest sway, A canvas of nature, in light’s tender play.

Here, where dragonflies dance and time is still, The mind finds a haven, the heart its fill, Of quietude’s gift, a serene escape, From the world’s incessant, fevered agape.

Gaze into the waters, deep and profound, Where each grateful thought is silently crowned, Ripples of blessings spread far and wide, In concentric circles, side by side.

The silver fish that glide beneath the sheen, Masters of the depths, scarcely seen, Whisper of abundance in their silent flight, A submerged trove, away from the light.

Reflect I now on the richness of days, On the myriad ways love comes and stays, In gestures small, in words softly spoken, In the bonds we forge, unbroken.

For in this quiet spot by water’s brim, Gratitude flows, on a simple whim, As reflections of life’s unspoken dreams, Glisten and shimmer in the sun’s warm beams.

Each leaf that floats, adrift yet free, Tells a tale of the cycle’s decree, From youthful green to autumn’s rust, Life’s full circle, in nature’s trust.

So here I sit, in contemplation deep, Harvesting blessings that I shall keep, In the quiet lull of the afternoon’s embrace, Finding gratitude’s truest, fairest face.

For this tranquil pond, so calm and wise, Holds a mirror to our own soul’s guise, To see the good, the pure, the bright, Even when day turns into night.

And as the dusk falls, with a gentle sigh, The pond reflects the tangerine sky, A moment captured, in tranquillity’s lap, A perfect close, to nature’s wrap.

In this hushed pause, by the water’s edge, I pledge a vow, a heartfelt pledge, To hold dear the reflections I’ve found, In the rippling waters, profound.
