Top Ways to Quickly Overcome Everyday Stress and Get Back to Being Happy
Don’t let stress slowly kill you.

Everything in moderation is age-old wisdom. Including the amount of stress, you subject yourself to. A little stress is good, as it could serve to help you function at your best.
But, stress that feels a little too much to you could be taking a physical, as well as a mental toll on your body. Stress should always be managed to some degree for depression or anxiety to be prevented.
So how should you manage, or alleviate stress?
The following are some top ways to reduce stress and be happy overall.
Write it Out, Schedule it Out
It is best to write down everything that seems to be overwhelming you at the moment. You will find a ‘things-to-do-list’ much easier to manage than having errands all crumpled up and fighting for attention in your head.
Writing down your upcoming tasks and activities, and putting a specific schedule and time to do them, helps you manage those activities one chunk at a time.
Crossing out an activity that has already been accomplished is very rewarding. That helps you feel more relaxed when preparing for or doing the other tasks at hand.
One At a Time Works
Focus and put all your attention specifically on one task at one time. It does not help to feel panicky about the other undone, or to-do tasks.
Thinking about them only adds unnecessary stress. That can even hamper doing the task you are attempting to accomplish at present.
Remember Why You Took on The Task Initially
We often become stressed when our projects or tasks start feeling like they are not worth the effort. Suddenly the whole task has taken on a life of its own and has become overwhelming.
That just means that you are creating and learning as you go.
Remember the reason you were eager to start the project or task. Look at the big picture and remember the benefits to be derived from it. And always keep the focus on the prize at the end.
Delegate, Delegate, Delegate
You need not do everything all at once, and you need not do everything on your own. Ask for help, get help, or pay for help.
When there is a feeling of being overwhelmed cropping up, hire someone to do the ‘externals’ in your life.
Hire someone to mow the lawn. Get a sitter for your children.
The feeling of being pressured to finish something on time will ease off or be eliminated if your everyday tasks are delegated.
Delegating takes a load off unnecessary worry and anxiety. Moreover, it is easier to check up on how things are than worrying yourself sick trying to do everything on your own, and all at once.
By All Means, Give Yourself a Reward
Always keeping your nose to the grindstone will just give you a flat face.
Allow yourself, reward yourself. You deserve it.
Acknowledge your accomplishments, no matter how big or small. It’s a necessary step each time before getting on to the next task or activity.
Rewarding yourself reduces stress and will make you happier to start the next task.
Give Yourself a Break
You need breaks to be more productive. A ten to fifteen-minute break during your work is necessary.
Go visit a cafe nearby. Take a brisk walk or do anything to take your mind off work, at least for a while. You want to clear your head to refresh and recharge.
If the surroundings dictate, stay in your work area and sit with your eyes closed. Focus on your breathing. Visualize a peaceful landscape or a relaxing scene. Allow the everyday stress to free itself from your muscles and your mind.
You Can Overcome
The fight against stress is often very stressful in itself. But with the proper tools and training, you can alleviate many stress factors when they rear their ugly head.
We will never live a stress-free life. We’re not intended to. It’s how we address, and then overcome those stressors that build our ‘stress fighting muscles’. It can and does become easier with time.
And we can be happy while we overcome those bothersome, everyday stressors.
