I am sure everyone has toyed with some money management and investment applications. As it seems this is the new hype. As everyone is following the news on the stock market changes, the current volatility is seen by many as a chance to get into Stock trading. I have been playing around with multiple Apps and so far I am pleased to say that those are what I found convenient.
Freetrade
Freetrade launched in 2018 with the aim of making stock trading accessible. Its Idea is really simple, It gives you the ability to buy stocks with one tap on your iPhone.
Why did I like this application?
It is very simple to use, making an account is simple. You can transfer funds after setting up your bank account and funds transfer instantly.
The best part is that it is commission-free investing.
They also offer ISA and SIPP features which I have not used so I can’t comment on them.
The worst part? Selling shares doesn’t make the money instantly available in your account. This is understandable considering that it is a long term investment and it is not expected that you will be playing with it very frequently.
If you sign up through this link, both of us will get a free share worth between £3 and £200, So win-win. I already have been lucky getting shares worth more than £10.
Plum
Plum is advertised as an investment Robot that once you link it to your bank account, starts analysing your spending and tries to sneak a few pounds to its saving pots. The application presents its features to you through a conversational bot that essentially talks you through the features of the app and what to turn on or off.
Why did I like this application?
To be honest, being wary about where my money goes, I disabled all the automated features from the start. What really shines in this app is the investment features. They have a wide variety of ETFs through different providers with very low fees.
Once you select one of them and make a deposit, it takes 2–3 days for the transaction to get processed. you have to pay £1 per month to access the investment features though.
Are you using other investment applications? Let me know!
