Born 07/03/1962, Syracuse, NY. At 14, he studied at a Franciscan seminary and wanted to be a priest. At 18, Tom dropped out of school, traveled to NY, and worked as a busboy.

His film debut was in Endless Love, later Taps, and his first hit, Risky Business.

Diagnosed with dyslexia at seven, he struggled to complete his academic studies. In 1990 converted to the Church of Scientology, claiming that Scientology teachings cured him of Dyslexia.
