It’s 2022 — a NEW year — Yet, do you still feel disconnected? Life is different since the start of 2020 and many still feel the isolation that has happened since we were originally locked down. And now with this NEW variant more contagious than the others, many are keeping to themselves during this cold and flu winter months.

A connection has always been an important part of our societal life. We as human beings have been drawn to connect and have created communities where like-minded come together.

Whether it be volunteer organizations, churches, or spiritual organizations — even our local neighborhood the importance of communities has helped us to bond.

There are so many benefits to this bond and with loneliness and isolation on the rise, our health can be at risk. Stress weakens the immune system — and so many of us are feeling the stressors of these times.

I believe strongly in the power of community and currently miss the social in-person connection we had prior to Covid.

I know I am not alone. Time to come together ladies.

Based on an article I found from happiness.com, written especially in the times we are in, here are:

7 Benefits of Community

1. Support and Safety — Community can help fight feelings of hopelessness and give us more certainty in these uncertain times.

2. Connection and Belonging Finding others with the same values, interests, and world views makes us realize that we are not alone and makes us feel valued.

3. Influence — Sometimes we need an extra push to stop us from falling into unhealthy habits or thoughts. Communities can influence us and motivate us to invest in our well-being and to bring positive changes to our lives.

4. SharingSharing is caring. Sharing activities, ideas, and feelings reinforce not only our sense of self but also adds worth and value to the community.

5. LearningLearning from others that have common interests but different views, beliefs, and experiences can help us reach insights that we may not have reached on our own.

6. AcceptanceAs we bond with others who have different views, we have the opportunity to practice acceptance. This includes self-acceptance.

7. More Connections, More Chances of Success Since the pandemic began we’ve seen a stronger focus on supporting local businesses, it’s a good place to start networking and building strong relationships.

Being part of a community is the best way of contributing, be it money, time, or kindness to others. Looking to be of service makes our community stronger.

The article ended with: Today is a good day to start looking for or creating your own network and to begin to experience the importance and power of community.

I have always found the value of community. I enjoyed being part of our church, the schools my kids attended, philanthropic organizations, and as a member turned leader for WW.

Most recently I was involved in local chambers promoting the clinic where I work. Spending time with others that are like-minded made me feel like I was among family and friends…

…those outings ended with the lockdown. And my time started with Illumination which has been an awesome virtual community to be a part of. I felt connected in a time of isolation and it continues to this day.

And now through my business, I am starting a community of like-minded ladies, mid-life, who are looking to make the second half of life the best half.

Ladies who are open-minded looking for support, to connect, to learn, to share, to feel some hope, as we become who we are now meant to be.

It’s a journey of self-awareness — and a mind, body, and soul experience.

And it starts with a FREE 3 Day Experience in a private FB group — a NEW View through Self-Awareness. Click the link and join me on January 24, 25 & 26 as we bring attention to our mental, physical and spiritual side as we navigate through these times and beyond…

…Time to take control and find peace — as well as support.

I’ve also created a QUIZ to help you on this journey — and I have recently released it! What is Your Self-Awareness Type? LADIES, this free 2-minute quiz is based on the Greek Know Thyself to find out where you are, and where you can go.
