Tofurky is known for vegan alternatives like deli slices, and holiday roasts. Today I tried Tofurky Plant-Based Lightly Seasoned Chick’n.

Made from wheat gluten and tofu, it’s cut into chunks, easy to add to stir-fry, chili, etc. I heated some in a skillet with enchilada sauce to eat with brown rice in a tortilla. It absorbs sauce well, with a slightly chewy texture.

With 19g of protein in 1/3 cup, the chick’n is an easy fix if you need more protein in your diet. It’s also a good source of iron.

The seasoning is a bit smoky, with moderate sodium. The “lightly seasoned” flavor reminded me of Tofurky deli slices. They have flavors like BBQ and Thai Basil, too.
