Today my heart is silent
A Poem on Easter Eve
All at once, it became quiet in my heart Overwhelmed by what is happening Flabbergasted by the empty streets The deserted music halls and theatres
Grateful for our wonderful home Our temporary secure confinement A haven to protect the shell of my soul Quarantined not to endanger others
On this Easter Eve in the Spring of new bloom Earth’s awakening in full splendor I can not help but reflect on the notion That current events are forcing us back to our nature
Even the animals feel that they should greet us Deers carefully approaching us in the streets Dolphins playfully emerging in unexpected places Birds like never before tweeting cheer in our lives
But on this Easter Eve, my heart is moaning Touched by the fear I see in so many eyes Grieving for the loss of people Dearly loved ones that have passed away
I’m crying for the homeless people For lost children who have nowhere safe to go For our elders that we cannot visit Family that we cannot take in our arms
This Sabbatum Sanctum holds a special announcement The Holy Saturday after His crucifixion Exemplifying the shedding of personality, our human self So that we may unite with the selfless
I think of His sacrifice that ushered in a new era Symbolizing for me the opening of the gate to our hearts Doorway to the dimension of compassion An activation of unconditional love
And on this day of contemplation Remembering His sacrifice for our redemption I hope humanity will find a way to revive Through the Spirit of Love, from the wholeness of our Hearts
