I never owned a Tabby Cat, I think. Not even while growing up at the farm with a constant of over 10 cats. The cat sitting here in my chair is the stray cat I take care of together with my neighbor. Sometimes in winter, he wants to be inside for a few hours. Suddenly I realize I ‘have’ a Tabby Cat. Yeah!

I love the website National Today and found out that today is National Tabby Day.

Couldn’t resist sharing it with you. I just think there are a ‘few’ Tabby owners, here on Catness :-) At the bottom, you’ll find a link to more information you can find on the site. It’s a great read. You’ll read about the history and the characteristics (lazy??), the rarest color of a Tabby, when was the name first used, and a lot more you want to know. I’ve copied this from the website:

The four tabby coat patterns are:

*classic tabby with swirling patterns;

* mackerel tabby with narrow tiger-striped patterns;

* spotted tabby with large or small spots;

* and ticked tabby with tabby markings on the face and agouti hairs on the body, with few to no stripes.

There is a lot of interesting trivia to read on the website National Today. Here you’ll get straight to the information about the National Tabby Day . Enjoy!

I’ve sent in a request to change the Dutch National Queens Day (today, April 30th) into the Dutch National Kings Day (April, 27th). Perhaps you’ll have a request also.

Perhaps a new day? A Catness Day?

Bye to all cat lovers and Catness readers, smile, Ella
