To Your Health
A POEM IN RESPONSE TO THE SCBWI PROMPT: HEALTH
When you think of your health What image comes to mind? I found many of food and some of wine Others showed yogis on their mat.
Many show masks. Hand sanitizer’s one you’ll see. The times they are a changing. Now T.P. makes the list.
What will tomorrow bring? Will we sing? Or will we cry for a better day? What indeed will the ‘morrow bring?
We grow weary as the days roll on One adds to another and the weeks pile on; No relief in sight. We want our normal back!
Go back to work, they say. But is it safe? Dare I leave my home today? Who can say?
The President wears no mask Is that OK? The mask protects me, you see. Even the VP dawns one now.
What price for a life if it’s old and gray? No longer do they earn their pay; Should we care if they pass away? Put them in quarantine and pray.
My health is good, I’m glad to say, I hope yours is too on this fine day. What can we do but pray? And hope good health is here to stay.
Yeah, I know, some verses rhyme, some don’t. Consistency is not my strong suit. Besides it’s early. More java, please!
Blessings on your day, dear friends.
