A new hobby that I have taken on a serious note this year was bookbinding! Who would have guessed?! Those who truly know me can see that I love notebooks. I have a collection of all sorts! Do I use them? Honesty, not all of them! They are all so pretty! Some collect coins, cars, souvenirs but nope...I collect journals.
A few years ago my sister came up to me and said she wanted to teach me a new handcraft and I was surprised that it was this! I still use the notebook that we made! It’s so valuable to me and I think this was the moment where it all started.
I have had the willingness to create some more so suddenly I bought a lot of materials. Once I get my mind on something, I do it big. Maybe I should be more cautious in the future but I am relieved I did so. As an avid Youtube watcher, I searched for tons of videos that would help and guide me. There are so many types and so many methods to do bookbinding!
Down below is my favorite channel to learn from. She has step-by-step videos which are truly so easy to comprehend!
I have been trying to be more creative on my bookbinding and joining many techniques together but there is still so much more I can do! That’s why I love this new hobby of mine. I can still learn lots! Oh and since I went a little overboard and made more than I could handle, I started to sell them and now I’m making profits! Wohoo! 🎊
I am still a newbie and I’m trying to work on the quality of the products. I will little by little buy more equipment to help me. I’m still enjoying this journey!
If you would like to see more, here is my Instagram. Be aware, some are facepalm attempts but I like to post photos so I can later on, hopefully, see an improvement.
