You follow the sign saying ‘Troll’s Home’.

The brick-lined tunnel slopes down gently, then steeper. The smell gets worse with every step.

Now, as you progress, there is no sound of any voice. No troll, and no mysterious and beautiful stranger to be rescued.

Then, all of a sudden, the troll appears up ahead. It is a hideous and hairy creature, with eyes that seem to glow in the dark.

And you should probably worry that it is grinning broadly.
