To People with Backgrounds: I Work on a Professional Employment Team

Let me tell you how important backgrounds are to employers (yes, that includes pending charges from now until year 3000)

I can’t tell you how many people I’ve worked with that had backgrounds. At least 50% of people I worked with. The successful hiring process with a background just doesn’t work as planned or as quickly. Over 95% of employers will not accept anyone with any date that pops up after searching your name when there is another candidate out in the lobby who spent their time bowling or something.

The Beginning

When someone starts working with me they sign a consent for a background check, so I can do my job effectively. Without full disclosure I cannot guarantee anything. Honesty is step 1.

So, that’s why I know about searching backgrounds.

Pending Charges

There are websites to search upcoming court cases. There might not be a website to find your pending charge in your state, but ALL states have released court dates with names somewhere. Also, we work with law enforcement, as they sit right next to our administration. So, guess what happens when I have a question? Before anyone says HIPAA, the officer sees them and hears everything about them when they walk in the door and talk to the administration. At that point, they have disclosed that info to the officer, too. There’s always a system/legally protected loophole. And when he saw them coming in over and over, that kind of was a hint they are clients.

Point of all that: do your best to not get a background! It will make your life hell.

And don’t hide anything. Hiding things when you have a background makes you look suspicious, not hardcore. I can work with individuals with top secret clearances and other classified things with my other organization, Restore the Family: Military Transitions, but with the employer I’m talking about here, we don’t. So, being secretive only means that your background is dirty. We already know. Just be open, so we can start working with you.

It was part of my past jobs to read body language anyways…

Background is Water Under the Bridge

You cannot do anything about a background. It’s nothing to say “I was set up.” Look, the only thing that employers care about is just what I said before — and that is, the page must say “no information found” when they search you up. The reason for that is we literally hear excuses all the time. It was their attempt to bring back some credibility — credibility doesn’t need defending.

So, move past your past.

I’d love to help you! I chose this job, I did not have to, so the reason I’m here is I want to be. Your past is what I call “a baseline”. We ignore your past and just accept it as permanent. When you climb a mountain, you focus on the little things that can help you. You focus on what’s ahead of you. And you take time to appreciate the climb. I need your current life to not resemble the same person your background points to. And not only in your head, but to society.

We know some companies that do not do background checks. That might be where we need to start. But, companies can still hire you if the company leadership approves you. That is my goal for you. My goal is for the company to totally look past your past. Before they do, you need to accept your life, not walk in your background like a combat medal, and just let it be a battle scar. Employers can work with people with healed scars, because they don’t take up company time.

And that is the Key

All companies are doing, is:

  • looking for someone who is not a risk for them. Someone who will put the company before themselves.

Why does your background matter?

With my experience I can say that statistically individuals with backgrounds give excuses to miss things, they are not organized (or they would not have missed their appointment), they do not show up professional, their housing and transportation is always unstable, and they are carrying baggage. All of which are risks to employers. All of this is even a risk for mafia employment, you cannot even apply to be a real gangster with any of that. If they call, you have to understand you have to answer. Unless you are a CEO you have to answer your phone.

Statistics are not everything, but absolutely no one is going to risk it. You might be the exception, but don’t act like it. Live in a way that screams “I’m the best person to have on your team!”

Moving On

When you accept your background we can now work with you on professional development.

It is my professional opinion that you should have:

  • Peer Support Specialist
  • Employment Support
  • Therapist
  • Mentor

And this list is for everyone. I’m not singling out people with backgrounds. But, if they need more than this, okay, get it done.

Arguing

And understand that this is a team that works with society. When it comes to employers, don’t listen to people who have not worked with employers, and that includes you. You see, when anyone on this list does not understand something, we ask a more professional person, not Reddit, and we take notes. We do not assume to know more than they do.

We expect the same from our clients.

We believe that you can achieve your dreams — professional employment dreams, that is. And health goals. You have to get on board with us, though. Unless you have a mental diagnosis that prevents you from communicating effectively with an employer I will NOT be there with you at the company. And don’t say you had employment support, either. Say a friend helped you.

Let us help you build a world class professional life! If you want it, that is.

Want to be a doctor? I think I can figure out to make that happen!!

  • Work with me, not against me
  • never be late to an appointment
  • be a team player
  • be prepared to learn and excel
  • and come with a motivation to scale and move mountains!!

Come and live your life!

Develop yourself as society knows it. I refer to society because they know more than me. If a professional woman in a corporate level job would go on a date with you, you have made it. A woman executive is the line in the sand.

Whatever I say to do, it is for this goal. I don’t make stuff up. If I say jump, there is a reason. Until you have more years in mental health, more years with research, more years with employment teams, and more years with my skillset, with a heart to scale and move mountains, pay attention. I want you to be standing at the top of the mountain! That is why I work so hard!

In conclusion

From this very second you are on my mountain path. Fuck where you came from, you and I have already covered your past, I’m already over it. Let’s build your empire now. With climbing the mountain of life, you will scrape your legs, you will be bit by bugs, you will be tired and ornery, but you are developing! Let the mountain have its way. It is through what you go through on the mountain that makes you who you should be. Getting hurt doesn’t mean anything aside from normalcy. It is normal. Crying about being the victim of pain while making excuses (victim mindset) is not normal for us on the mountain, but for babies it is.

According to everyone, do not cry about your past or justify your professionalism, you only fool yourself.

Special Forces could care less about what you think about them. If you care about your past, you have not learned from them. Special Forces who sees a therapist gets put back in the fight. I have worked with a psychologist in the past. The last 2 women I dated did, too. One became my wife!!! Her and I build on our lives. Because we go to therapy, that doesn’t mean anything. Every therapist has a therapist. Only fake tough people do it alone.

If you are tough, you DO understand the importance of mental health already. I would hire someone who is seeing a therapist over someone who isn’t; but unfortunately employers cannot ask that.

Working with me also allows you to know what questions employers are not allowed to ask you. When they do, you know how to respond in a way for them to not only respect you, but see that you actually know what you’re doing.

If you have a background, I have the tools for your climb!
