To Open or Not To Open, That Was The Question
And I finally did.

I was having thoughts and doubts like many others — how can I ask readers or writers to support me, and are they willing to?
I still don’t know how many supporters I will gain.
But without trying, how would I know.
After reading Kristina God’s article, I decided to set a coffee shop where readers can stop by and enjoy more of what I create. And hope some of them support me.
This is what happened.
I read this article, and I decided to give it a try.
Sure, I always love coffee.
I even joked about having a coffee shop with my friends in the past, just letting someone manage it because I didn’t know how the fancy coffee machine works and the business. In my mind, I was always thinking about having artworks hanging on the walls of the coffee shop.
I don’t know how they operate it, technical side, both the actual coffee shop and Ko-fi. But now I can leverage the latter one, the platform! To call out whoever is willing to support a creator like me, spending hours creating writing content, images using a software called Blender, applications, and learning here and there.
A car for my fiction story is almost there.
Now it looks like this.

Thank you Poetic Therapy, Mario López-Goicoechea, Amy Christie, MN, EP McKnight, MEd for your interest in my previous article Kinds of the Car They Ride.
My first application is almost there.
The targeting users: like me when I started writing on this platform — thinking about how to write, too few genres or too many, how other writers are doing with their everyday writing, how they survived the first year, and what are writing tips that apply to my writings.
The type of application I wanted to develop way before I started writing here is different from the one I’m trying to deploy by the end of this year.
But the motivation behind it is the same — hoping one application can help someone, minimizing one’s current and future struggles.
It sounds very much like “using an app to solve problems.” Not that big in my case, but the idea is pretty similar.
I guess you think of it from day to day as well, as you try to write about writing tips to newbies, solving their problems from what you know.
So, YES, I wanted to develop an app and gave up before, but now it’s almost there.
Yap, I wanted to develop an application TEN years ago! So, I’m a little nervous and excited about the first baby.
As Yousuf Rafi has mentioned,
experiment with your ten thousand ideas, develop micro-skills and write ten ideas a day.
Yes, keeping trying is a good thing. I will continue to experiment with new ideas.
I would learn how to use new functions of Blender and learn more about opportunities of developing a new application.
Back to my Ko-fi page, I have posted images there, the rendered 3D images. If you find one of them hilarious, I would be happy.
Speaking of writing down ten ideas a day, I don’t know if I have that many. But I guess, once I write them down, it becomes more obvious that we have so many small ideas here and there. And you get to remind yourself to try them out.
Here are some writers who have also opened their coffee shops. You may want to read their stories behind it.
Benya Clark, Jan Sebastian, Shannon Ashley, Nicole Higginbotham-Hogue, Justjulieandherblog, Francesca Dallaglio, Ellie Jacobson ✍🏻, Sharing Randomly, Emma Sachsse, David B. Clear
