Now that I have your attention, I will tell you why I am writing about this today.

I became a writer on this platform a few weeks ago. I love every minute of it. I write and publish like a maniac, and it’s food for my soul and makes me deliriously happy.

In the beginning, I thought that’s what Medium was all about. I consider writing a creative albeit reclusive pursuit since I don’t write in coffee shops and write mostly late at night anyway.

Little did I know I could hang out virtually with a community of writers.

I am getting to know some of you, which is deliciously fun, inspiring, and supportive. I have made new friends, and I adore my fellow writers.

My life has gotten exponentially richer because of it. Thank you.

One of my friends is a legendary writer and editor, the one and only The Sturg, who tirelessly supports writers on Medium — as a volunteer!

He helped me birth my first piece on this platform; we have been connected ever since.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, my friend. We’ll brush up on your German soon.

I discovered that The Sturg has been facing significant health and other life challenges that have resulted in financial hardship.
