To Be Wise, Listen to the Wise
We’re mirrors that reflect who or what we’re exposed to
What books do you read? What content do you consume? Who do you follow on Twitter?
If you read articles here, you’re probably among the small percentage of human beings who enjoy reading, which is impressive. Still, if you’re not reading the right people’s content on the internet, you’re just reducing your chances of growing.
You become who you expose yourself to. I had to be intentional about the people I followed on social media because whether you see it or not, those people are responsible for how you think and perceive the world.
We’re mirrors. We reflect and become what we’re exposed to.
You do yourself a major disservice if you keep hanging out with people who don’t align are not willing to do better for themselves because it’s just a matter of time till you start behaving like them.
Books are great because you’re tapping knowledge from people who are way ahead of you. And that’s one of the fastest ways to get ahead.
Developing a reading habit is one thing, actually reading books from great authors is another.
Don’t be scared of unfollowing people on social media. Don’t be scared of dropping a book that doesn’t have the value you need. It’s your mind that has to consume all of this information. So, you have to be intentional
Again, if you’re reading this, it says a lot about your thirst for knowledge and how you’re on, you’re setting yourself for growth.
Keep at it, long enough, and soon, you won’t even recognize this version of yourself.
Thank you for reading.
