To Be Complicit
A poem
To be complicit
Is to be dim witted.
To ignore what’s in front
Is to delude from what’s blunt.
This programming is interrupted
For the black lives that got erupted
From a society that mistreats them
While pretending it’s not contempt.
We say black lives matter
When we sit and get fatter
From the lies we tell ourselves
That we’re woke to our pelves.
It’s time to stop lying
Before we start crying
Because we treat black people like shit
And it’s time for us to take a hit.
