To be a Top Writer, You Need One Trait
The trait has been around for centuries yet most people lack this

Everyone wants to be a top writer these days. You get fame. Attention. Notoriety. Money.
Even though you expect everything to happen right now. Getting to the height of the top writer doesn’t happen so fast.
Of course, some work is required to get there. This is something that won’t happen overnight.
You need to have one trait and one trait only on your path to get there.
Patience.
Wikipedia says patience is,
the ability to remain calm when dealing with a difficult or annoying situation, task, or person.
If you could write for the rest of your life and make money doing this, wouldn’t that be the dream job to have?
To get there, you need to be patient and put in the work. There will be setbacks on your way to get there. Editors will ignore your latest work. You get used to this but it becomes frustrating and makes you think is this the path you want to take?
Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet. Aristotle
You ask yourself how much patience can you endure?
Sam Walton who created Wal-Mart had to wait decades until he opened a chain of stores. If you get frustrated over one, two, or three articles, then maybe writing isn’t your calling.
If you keep writing, it will be worth it. You have to endure pain and suffering. This is the normal right of passage to becoming a great writer. As long you’re not bleeding, this is a piece of cake. You can handle this.
A lot of things in life are mental. Mentally you can endure this. Others have gone through and had worse experiences. That one rejection is not the end of the world. The one criticism will not end your short-lived career. Whether you have written for a month or two, or even a year, you are still a new writer. You have to endure years of rejection and grow a thick skin. This won’t be the last time your article gets rejected.
Patience my fellow writers. You have just started your writing journey.
