To Achieve Anything in Life You Must Be Consistent
Consistency is the key to being successful
We all set goals for ourselves. We aim high in pursuit of our dreams.
While setting goals is one step of the process, following up on them is what leads you to success. You must have a clear plan of how you will achieve your goals. With that comes consistency.
“Setting a goal is not the main thing. It is deciding how you will go about achieving it and staying with that plan.” — Tom Landry
A lot can be said about consistency. Just like other habits, it is a habit that you work on throughout life. You build consistency by doing your work regularly. Consistency is the key to success.
If you look at the lives of successful entrepreneurs, developers, actors, writers, you will see they all reached the top of the mountain with consistency.
Whether you’re starting a new business, work, or project, you have to put in consistent work. You can do amazing work and do a lot of it every day, but if you don’t do it consistently, you won’t see results.
The results you were looking for would simply not match the expectations you set for yourself.
Consistency goes hand in hand with productivity. You can wake up one day to realize that you’ve succeeded at something and looking back you’d realize the reason it happened is that you put in work.
“Success isn’t always about greatness. It’s about consistency. Consistent hard work leads to success. Greatness will come.”
— Dwayne Johnson
So what do we do to remain consistent? The answer it — you work on it. Consistency is a skill just like any other.
If you look at marathon runners, do you think they just magically came out and all of a sudden won the race? No, they worked on their skills before they put themselves out there.
With that said, there are no quick and easy results. You must fight like a champion to win your place in life.
If you put a bucket outside in the rain to collect the water, you won’t have a full bucket today but you will have it a few days. Likewise, you won’t see the results you want to see today, but you will see them tomorrow.
You must be self-disciplined
To drive consistency forward, you must discipline yourself to do it. You motivate yourself to do the work every day.
You don’t expect that someone will magically do the work for you. You assume full responsibility for what you do. You are the boss.
When you fall, you should depend on yourself more than others to get you back on your feet. Search for solutions to your problems within yourself first.
Work-life balance
Knowing how to achieve a perfect work-life balance is the key to success. Sometimes our friends and family can get in the way of your life and throw you off the course. But you shouldn’t let them hold you back.
Likewise, unexpected life circumstances can throw you a curveball. But you need to learn how to deal with obstacles that come your way and stay firm.
You can be an achievement-oriented person who values hard work, but you must remember to be consistent with it. And remember, greatness can only be achieved with consistency, no matter what your goals and aspirations are.
So to be successful you must be consistent in whatever you do. The results will naturally follow after you show consistency with your work.
