Poetry | Meditation On Courage and Resilience
Tiny Flower
Big Hope

Cracked patterns surround, Arid, parched, trace their lines around. In remorse, find no well-spring of hope To wet split lips at wit’s end.
Yet within this barren bend, a tiny flower With such power in fragile strength, Denies the breath of decay, Gives hope to all dismay.
Inflating lungs with its zest, Basking in its fragrant hue, Taking the breath it gives, Returning the love it brings.
Big hope in this tiny flower. Be not afraid. Emanate this light. Let your soul scintillate.
Find courage in such irony Of this tender flower thriving in a desert, Rebuking death so defiantly, As it wills to blossom.
Feeling tenaciously inspired by this quote and the week’s writing prompt from Jonny Masters over at the Poetry Playground:
“Here is the world. Beautiful and terrible things will happen. Do not be afraid.”
