Time To Ditch Stock Images
And Start Creating Your Own!
It’s like your own personal brand on Medium.
Here’s my previous work that I created with the limited design knowledge I have. I know, it’s not the best but at least I start somewhere :3
Plain & Boring right?
I mean, to be honest, I didn’t know what I was doing. All I knew I wanted to create images for my stories. Haha~
Here are 3 reasons why you should create your images.
#1 Make your stories stand out!
When you create your image for your stories. Every story is unique and it would be a bonus to portray them as best as we can aside from your stock images that are already available.
#2 Avoid using repetitive images.
You probably have stumbled upon multiple stories with the same image.
Right.. (nothing to be shy to admit, haha)
I have seen a few different or similar topic stories with the same stock image. Despite them being great stories in their own right…
I somehow forgot who wrote what and what was I reading :’3
I feel bad for not remembering.
Which then leads me to my final point.
#3 Allow your brand to stick to your readers.
YASS!
Like any personal or professional branding. People associate better when there’s some form of branding attached. Be it colors, fonts, logos…
Even your face can also be part of your branding.
I kid you not, go ask someone who’s an expert in it.

It all started when I saw some of my business buddies get their YouTube banners revamped. And it made me think about my banner and how “amazing” it looks. LOL
I reached out to Elinur to help with my YouTube banner as well. The process was smooth and it was easy to communicate with her on what I liked and what AJS stands for.
What I also liked was that the files were in Canva! That way I’m free to play around with the elements provided.
What are elements?
It’s just a few files of the standalone designs that you can mix and match however you want.
I’m not sure if my explanation is right but that’s how I understand it >.<
Which then led me to use the banner here in Medium!
And I thought to myself, perhaps Elinur could also provide her services here in Medium.
I believe in supporting fellow creatives no matter how small and as long as they do a good job and are pleasant to work with.
