ARC OF THE IMMORTALS Book 2
Time Rifts: 8 / Hivbrit Presence
Recap: Jac looks into Touzdae’s auric field and sees an unknown someone poised to take her spirit and body. He invites her for a pallet cleanser. He shows her a space on a deep interior level of the station.

Recap continued: Touzdae recognizes the space as the Healing Chalice from aboard the Fish. She suggests Jac use it to find her perp. He is ready when he is hit by an outside force, goes unconscious. And is injured. His recovery, thanks to Touzdae is slow.
They look at patterns in Comsa’s data bank for meaning. Jack sees something and is unsure of what he sees. It is out of reach.
Jac warned Touzdae to stay away from the Entu Monk should he appear to her.
“He forced a message on me or in me. I’ve cleared it. He presents with mixed messages. So far he has favored me. With some new fields of light around me as protection, I don’t think it will be so easy for him to get in,” Jac said. “Would you like to see the configuration of light?”
Touzdae nodded “yes” and looked. “Got it.”
Jac logged a three hour trip. Touzdae monitored.
Jac’s Hopper and the smaller one slipped out into the streams and migrated down the rifts away from the station. He watched the monitors for the patterns. His Hivbrit selected a time near to the time of his birth.
This is an entree point. Feel free to adjust once inserted, Hivbrit conveyed. The streams parsed and an interdimensional rift formed. The two hoppers slid into the envelope of the rift.
Ordinary time slowed. The observation sphere elongated. It popped out within a magnetic storm in a nebulae of gases. Jac used the neural interface to move out of the turbulence. The sphere floated as it regained integrity.
The egg-shaped observer vessel popped it’s bubble. It merged into a ship where fires raged throughout. The ship was chaotic.
Before, Jac thought.
The bubble popped into a time stream. It traveled outside time, while he remained on the ship and in the bubble simultaneously. Jac watched as the ship began reconstructing itself. He smiled and almost laughed.
He saw her. She was radiant. Blinded by her light at first, he cringed. Light cascaded from her like a waterfall filled with stars. They created an arch of golden light. Tempted as he was to follow this arch, he remained steadfast observing her. The light created an elation beyond awe and wonder.
Her identifier or name is Hannah, Hivbrit sent the thought.
He watched as her spirit entered an injured woman. Oh my Spirits, he thought. The injured woman is my mafa.
Why am I here? Jac wondered. Yon, his fama, glanced in his direction.
Fama? The man looked straight at or through Jac. His mafa — bonded with Hannah’s spirit — pulled Yon into her arms.
He popped out of the arch and floated. His head hurt. He saw the instrumentation of the Hopper superimposed on the inside curve of the bubble. A Time Stamp flashed. A thread of Obz words threaded on the bubble’s curve. The Antarian translation to the Obz appeared:
Additional Insertion
Slow Removal
Emergency Eject
First choice, he thought: Additional Insert for thirty minutes.
Inadvisable, Hivbrit sent a strong thought. Jac went ahead anyway and lost consciousness. The hoppers on automatic exercised a slow removal.
Jac awoke as the hoppers slipped into their bays. Did you induce unconsciousness in me to stop my foolhardy behavior? Jac put the question to his Hivbrit not expecting answer.
Did not, your ‘foolhardy behavior’ put you at risk and your body saved you, Hivbrit answered. The hatches opened. He climbed out.
“What’s wrong?” Touzdae asked as Jac sat down next to her in the control room.
He asked her not to look at him. And he preceded to tell her what had happened. He told her he needed to meditate to curb his pushy impulsiveness.
“If you want to take a few excursions, I feel safer here for the while, so I can work on this.”
“You lost consciousness?” she asked.
He nodded. “I need a good long rest.”
She made a wide compassionate space for him to reveal all that he had experienced. He looked at her with eyes welled with tears.
“No…” he paused and averted his gaze. “Not ready…”
She let it go.
“Need sleep…” he rose a great weariness over took him like an ancient being and lumbered away, a defeated boxer. She let him go. She cooked a meal for herself and then after reading some Obz she laid down next to him.
They slept. Touzdae awoke while Jac continued to sleep.
“Good aromas, dinner?” she asked.
“Hmm, lunch for beginning meal or something like that,” Jac said.
She sat. He served her a plate of food and kissed the side of her head.
“It looked as though you were meditating in your sleep earlier. True or my projection?” Touzdae asked.
“Essen Nidra was a technique I learned from Bhantu.”
“Can you say more about it?”
He explained that if a dreamer awakened within a dream he or she could begin the Essen Nidra. Go deeper into dream states or travel in dreamtime. She wanted to know if he uncovered anything.
“Nothing yet,” he said. “But I want to show you the safety measures. Okay?”
They went to the Hopper Bays.
“I found this one from a previous trip, by one of the users eons ago.” She watched as he explained a small diversion of power from the batteries or engines. It was a flower of life force field within the Hopper’s interior.
“Then this switch, here under the seat. It’s a polarity switch. Flip it and an electromagnetic integrity floods this compartment. See?”
Touzdae nodded adding: “Up for monitoring an excursion?”
He nodded and grinned.
She returned thirty-six minutes later: jubilant. She skipped into the control room beaming and radiant.
“And…” Jac laughed.
“Well?” Touzdae asked.
“Our second meeting?” Jac asked rhetorically.
“Oh yes!” Touzdae was glowing. He stood. They embraced. “I saw some Etweeny in the food data base,” Jac remarked
“A small sip would be good,” Touzdae said, radiant.
She made dinner and he reconstituted two small glasses of Etweeny.
After two glasses they reconstituted more. The supply was soon exhausted. They laughed and reminisced. Hangovers gouged their heads at the start of the next cycle.
A day later Touzdae went out for two sixty minute excursions. Jac’s Hivbrit came to him while Touzdae was on on her first excursion and waited.
Jac (thoughts): Is there a mission Touzdae and I can make to bring our thinking in line with one another? In the larger plane? Or in oneness with one another?
Hivbrit: Touzdae to a future after you have completed your debt and you to a near future. Discuss with her unless she knows.
The following day Jac went out on one thirty-minute excursion without incident. Touzdae’s Hivbrit arrived to assist her in reflecting.
Touzdae (with thoughts): Can I safely align with Jac’s thinking so we may merge paths on a cosmic scale?
Hivbrit: Two missions in the hoppers. Jac’s mission to a near future. And you to your life with Jac on Antarian Prime after all else — done. Discuss with Jac unless he already knows.
The following day Jac went out on one thirty-minute excursion without incident.
“I’m thinking of one long excursion,” Touzdae wondered. “About twelve hours.”
“Sure,” Jac said.
Near the end of her time out in the rifts she observed. She let her love shower golden sparkles over these three. She watched as her future self, Jac, and Po raced towards the top of The Third Tower of El. Observer Touzdae sighed with an encompassing peace. He broke through the weakened barrier and fell. Touzdae watched him fall. She slowed time.
She wanted to jump — to save him. You know you must not intervene. This intervention will change the time line. You will not be able to return to the Obz Station, nor to Jac, Hivbrit laid out the thoughts.
Touzdae released her Ebe (Ebe is the ordinary self or ego) and let Higher Will of Hivbrit flow through her.
Heart open — she wept. Tears racked her body. She convulsed with deep grief. After a time the bubble retracted inside the hopper and began it’s return.
Midway through Touzdae’s excursion Jac saw a darkness inside Touzdae. It was deep within her being.
Placed there from outside. His Hivbrit sent the thought and continued the stream of thoughts.
I can remove it, Jac addressed Hivbrit.
You can. That would make her a target. Inadvisable, Hivbrit’s thoughts were clear.
