ARC OF THE IMMORTALS Book 2
Time Rifts 54 — Descent to The Planet
Landing at The Governor’s Spaceport in Atlantis

Previous Chapter
Suke identified the source of the voice in her mind, but could not identify the person behind the voice. She did know it was a person filled with great love. She saw Touzdae and Jac’s Needlecraft docked in the port side hangar bay. She jumped there holding Touzdae but did not arrive as expected.
Suke was in the sphere — once forbidden territory. It felt neutral and peaceful. The conflict that once reigned was gone. A pride of lions gathered around Suke and Touzdae. Touzdae was limp in her arms. The lions delivered them both to the airlocks. Suke found the entrance to the correct airlock and stopped.
She fell to her knees. Felt the life leave Touzdae. She put Touzdae down on the deck, opened her third eye, and started work to bring her back. Suke worked in an alternate realm for twelve hours. Forty-five minutes passed outside in linear space-time.
A figure saturated in white and yellow light appeared on the other side of the closed airlock hatch. The door opened. The light expanded around Suke, Touzdae, and the humanoid figure. They disappeared.
And reappeared within the transdimensional chamber. They materialized aboard the Captain’s Cabin on the Nez Space Fish. Suke looked up at the figure of light and re-entered linear space-time, exhausted.
“Oh my Spirits, can this be you?” she wondered.
The figure of light entered Touzdae’s body. The light figure blended with her. They became one. Healing energies transferred from the figure of light to Touzdae. Her heart started. Seconds later all her damaged tissues, cardiovascular channels, neurological, soft interstitials, brain functions, endocrine systems, and DNA re-balanced. Her body became well. As well as that they could make it. The spark of light re-ignited. The figure of light pulled out.
A second passed. Touzdae coughed and awakened. The light from the figure of light receded. He sat down with labored breathing for 30 seconds.
Suke recovered.
Touzdae propped herself up on the bed.
“Jac? You’re alive?” Touzdae looked at Jac.
“Yes,” Jac said. I have so much more to tell you. I apologize for not being able to tell you. And that I caused you unnecessary suffering. He thought but did not send the thought to her.
Tommalar and Ko-Ak stood amazed. They and the bridge crew stared with bewildered joy at the three main view screens. Chief Navigator Ko-Ak explained —
“Moments after Touzdae and Suke folded space a hiccup happened. A quantum entangled time bubble appeared on our ship. And its duplicate in the alternate reality. This caused the bumpy ride as you can see on the screens.”
The screens displayed schematics — animated and stills. Of interest — an intertwined braid. A path of the two ships exchanging places in the two alternating dimensions.
“The force between the paths of the two ships put tremendous strain and sheer on both our vessels. Without the extra forcefields the ships would have been torn apart, “ Ko-Ak said.
“I have a report from the engineers.” Reypat. “The ship cannot jump, nor enter a hyperspace tube again. We can travel via the ion engines with the forcefields still in place at a factor one at most.”
The energy of the bridge crew fell. Their ship was at death’s door.
Forty-eight hours later Captain Tommalar made a ship-wide announcement. Passengers arranged to take transports to Terra-Earth.
Both Jac and Touzdae were in shock. They did not speak to each other.
As they made final preparations to take the Needlecraft to Terra-Earth Touzdae turned to Jac.
“I promised I would see this thing, this mission to Earth to its completion. But I can’t take any more of these adventures. It’s too much. Please don’t say anything.”
She stopped and tears lined her cheeks.
“I do love you with my heart. I’m not sure I want to be with you anymore after this. So I have decided to take time away from you after this mission finishes.”
“Yes.” He paused and sighed filled with sadness. And with compassion said: “I understand.”
They received permission to leave.
Once freed of the Mu — Jac and Touzdae jumped the Needlecraft to a high orbit above Terra-Earth.
Jac contacted the Governor’s Spaceport near his headquarters and palace home. The head of the governor’s affairs expected them.
Jac and Touzdae had a ten-second argument about who would land the Needlecraft. Jac acquiesced.
She flew the Needlecraft to the Spaceport on one of the many islands of Atlantis. The craft, guided by six enormous high-energy beams, landed. Clamps anchored the ship to the spot. Recorded thoughts explained why. Both of them downloaded the thoughts to secondary external memory.
They waited in silence on a bench for a little over an hour.
Many crafts flew by the port but did not stop.
A sleek hovercraft settled in a holding zone and set down. A hatch opened and Shisla emerged. He waved at them and sent thoughts. Touzdae and Jac received the thoughts before Shisla appeared to have sent them.
They ran to the hovercraft.
Within minutes they were airborne and headed towards the final destination.
