Time, My Faithful Companion
What will become of me?
Time, my faithful companion, What will become of me? What fate do you reserve for me? I have never seen you, yet, I feel you growing in these bones, In this heart that once knew passion, Now turns cold; I feel you on this flesh, that grows wrinkles every day.
To where are you leading me, my friend? Is it to exhaustion? To the end Of pleasure and meaning; or To the contemplation of things I once knew and cherished — so deeply. Or simply to that only moment, The one that forever echoes in eternity, The one moment where everything Looks and feels anew, As if the world has changed, yet stayed the same. Like a newborn baby weeping At the beauty, life has to offer. For the last time before I forever draw my last smile, Forever draw my last breath.
