Time-Locked Memory
A poem.
Why is it that after all this time I still dream of you? It is odd to think that you are no longer the same person I once knew. You are like a photograph trapped in time. I know it’s strange, but I cannot help myself. I want to get to know you all over again. This version of you that is instilled in my mind is no longer what embodies you. You have changed, I have changed, the world has even changed; so who am I to continue to keep you trapped in a time-locked memory?
I’m entering this story in Elise’s poetry competition! I saw her post and thought it was such a fun idea. For anyone interested, she posted the guidelines here. Go join the competition!
