Time

Tick-Tock says your Clock.

Time is one of those things All you can do is watch as your pendulum swings Never mind about the time you have lost You can’t get it back at any cost

Do you remember being young When everything was full of fun That sweet smell of the trees and grass Going to school and sitting in class Or going for a summer swim When we could just do things on a whim Felt like we had all the time in the world Surely we could never grow old

But the clock ticks on As the days grow long Work steps in the way of play Old days become this new today Responsibilities have their way

And what we forget We come to regret What about the time spent On things that no longer make sense We can never get back What we used to lack Nobody else around to pick up the slack That time is now long gone

I looked into the mirror Who is this I see I wouldn’t even recognize me The sands of time flow Their pace is not slow Every day you grow Even when you don’t know

Then one day you realize You better start moving fast You never know how long things will last Time stops for no one No matter how old Or how young

The only time we have The time actually counts Is the time that is now There is magic in today Gone is yesterday
