Thrift with Me
Code Orange š

Hello, friends! My last two postings were kind of heavy, so Iāve decided to post about a fun outing Roxy and I had on Friday.
As many of you already know, my family and I are HUGE Halloween fans. Since we are āofficiallyā in the countdown to Halloween, weāve decided to keep our eyes peeled as the Fall/Autumn/Halloween dĆ©cor will soon be displayed on the stores shelves once all the clearance 4th of July/Summer stuff is out of the way.
As of now, our two local Hobby Lobby locations are already displaying aisles of Fall dƩcor and (my favorite) PUMPKINS!!! But none of it is on sale and I refuse to pay $49.99 for a pumpkin yard display.
With Matt at work and Ben at a community water day event, Roxy and I headed out to the thrift shops to try our luck at what treasures we would find.
Our day was a success! Hereās the āBootyā that Captain Dani and First Mate Roxy discovered:

Roxy just about lost her mind when we hit our local Deseret Industries store and she found this jewel tucked away on the rack. It is on our Mommy/Daughter bucket list to visit Salem, Massachusetts one day.
Just a note: I did wash this shirt before she modelled it. Those deodorant lines on the bottom right are hers.

Iām a sucker for kidās books, especially Halloween kidās books! Dragonās Halloween is in near-perfect condition, while Black Cat Creeping is a bit more āloved onā. A little glue, some tape and a wipe-down later, itās good to go.
The first book I ever purchased after becoming a preschool teacher was Space Case by Edward and James Marshall. Itās about an alien who lands on earth on Halloween night and goes trick or treating with a group of kids. This was the beginning of my beautiful collection.

Ok, Iām obsessed with all the cute Pinterest crafts that are done with those mini pillars sold on occasion at the Dollar Tree. I just have the bad luck of never getting there in time to score a few. These beauties practically jumped into my cart (Ok, ok⦠I helped a little!) and the total cost was just under $10. Iām planning to spray paint them black and use them in my year-round Halloween dĆ©cor. Craft post coming soon, Amanda Laughtland!

Yes, I already have the complete Harry Potter set. Iām planning another craft with these and the total cost was $2.50.

I cannot tell you how happy I was to find this little birdie on the shelf of my local Goodwill and for only $4.00! Her name is Hedwig, of course. Sheās going to make a beautiful addition to my Halloween displays.
And there you have it! Some of my best ābragsā from the thrift store and all of them cost pennies compared to what they were at full price!
Do you enjoy thrifting? If so, what are your favorite finds? Iād love to know!
As always, thank you so very much for stopping by and having a little fun with me! Thrifting is always an adventure, even when the āscoreā isnāt huge: itās truly the little things that can bring you the most joy!
Remember to take care of yourself! If youāre anywhere in the western United States that are under the current heat advisory warning (like I am), DRINK LOTS OF WATER!!!
I love you and thereās nothing you can do about it! Love always ~ Dani ā¤
