Three Ways to Stop Wasting Time
Increase Your Productivity Today.

Did you work all day but feel like you didn’t get anything done?
There are so many distractions these days; it’s harder than it has ever been to stay focused.
It’s important to train our brains on how to stay focused.
Create before consuming.
We live in an era where it’s very easy to scroll social media mindlessly.
We may feel like we need a little break from the work we’re doing, and next thing you know, we’ve been scrolling for 20 minutes, and we’re down a rabbit hole of researching something we just saw in an Instagram post. Sound familiar?
Consider only allowing yourself to get on those platforms only if you have something valuable to share.
Put your phone on airplane mode.
There is nothing groundbreaking about putting your phone on airplane mode to help you focus, but hey, it works!
If you have a priority that needs to be worked on or get done, it’s important to remove as many distractions as possible.
One priority a day.
Speaking of priorities, are you the kind of person that starts every day with a long to-do list?
We tend to have long to-do lists with big things to accomplish, and we end up feeling discouraged at the end of the day and in a deficit going into the next day.
Many will suggest you should have no more than three priorities a day — and I like that approach, but I think it’s important to narrow it down even more to the one thing you want to make sure gets done that will make you feel accomplished when you go to bed.
“Overwhelm is, most often, a mindset. If you think about all the things you have to do, you’ll be face down on the floor. It really helps to break it down into smaller pieces.” — Jen Sincero
Final Thoughts
If you find yourself wasting time and feeling unproductive, it’s important to create a system that supports your productivity.
- You can start by creating before consuming. If you have an urge to scroll through social media, only do so if you have something valuable to share on the platform.
- Another strategy is putting your phone on airplane mode when working on priority tasks or completing high-level projects.
- Lastly, consider limiting each day with one big focus point or task instead of the easy items on your list.
