Three reasons why 95% of people don't improve in life & achieve their goals.

Ever wondered despite planning for something or wanting something you still won't be able to achieve it.

We always convince ourselves that massive success requires massive action, whether its losing weight, building a business, writing a book/article, winning a championship or achieving any other goal. We put pressure on ourselves to find the perfect and best strategy to make some big improvements that everyone will talk about. As a result, we will remain in the same position forever wondering why nothing is happening.

There are three main reasons we can't achieve what we want:

1. We are so focused on figuring out the best approach that we never get around to taking action. That’s the reason most of us remain in the same position forever waiting for the best setup and time.

2. The other problem we all have is that we set goals and focus on the result (spent most of the time in fancying if I achieved that goal, I would do this/that. If I achieved my goal, how would it look like) and forget about the process i.e. in order to achieve that goal, I must do this/that. What am I doing right now to achieve my goal? This is true in all aspects of life, whether that’s relationship, career, health or growing in my field.

How we set goal in different aspects of life: GOAL (our main Focus)

POCESS (we forget about)

Relationship: I should have happy life with my partner (GOAL). How are my actions/behavior now? (PROCESS)

Losing weight: I would be very happy if I lost X amount of weight (GOAL). I should exercise 3–4 days per week, to lose weight (PROCESS)

Money: I should make x amount of money this month/year (GOAL). Ways of making money, will my current habits lead me to be wealthy. (PROCESS)

Trading: When I make money, I will buy brand new car (GOAL) What it takes to be a profitable Trader, how am I performing now. (PROCESS)

Good grades: This semester I should get A grades (GOAL). What should I work on, to get A grades. (PROCESS).

Happiness: I should be happy (GOAL). Must find what makes me happy, do them repeatedly (PROCESS).

3. 3rd reason that we don't improve is ignoring today’s habits: Success in any field doesn’t need earth shattering actions, Success OR Failure is the end product of habits. Our today’s habits show how our future life will be. Improving by 1 percent isn’t particularly notable, sometimes it isn’t even noticeable. But it can be very meaningful in the long run. The effects of our habits multiply as we repeat them, they seem to make little difference on a given day and yet the impact they deliver over the months and years can be enormous. Habits are double-edged sword. Bad habits can cut us down just as easily as good habits can build us up. So, if you want to master a habit, the key is to start with repetition not perfection.
