Three Principles of Korean Cuisine You Can Use Every Day

With the rise of Korean food, music, and cinema, it’s always good to know the why and how’s of the culture, especially when it comes to food. Koreans are grateful for the health that food provides, which is why these principles exist:
1. Nature and Time: Most of what is included in its cuisine are from nature and food brings people together to reconnect.
2. Food is medicine: In other words, health begins with what you eat.
3. Balance: The entire meal from beginning to end has balance — heat, aroma, and flavors. A balanced meal stimulates bapsang, which means “a table where meals are enjoyed.” It refers to a meal composition: Rice, soup, kimchi, banchan (side dishes), and protein (optional). The foundation for every good Korean meal is shared with enjoyment.
