Three of MENA’s Leading Fertilizer Players: OCP, Maa’den, QAFCO

The purpose of this story is to share the latest news and developments from three of the Middle East and Noth Africa’s (MENA) leading fertilizer players: OCP Group, founded and based in Morocco; Maa’den, founded and based in Saudi Arabia; and QAFCO, founded and based in Qatar.
This was inspired by a story from “Voices of the Inflated World” Sam Warain — a newsletter published through substack that shares professional analysis with a mix of personal views on the global economy and world issues.
The story above looks at how the energy crisis has had an impact on Kenya’s citizens for a long time. Similiar to Morocco, the African country is geographically located on the coastline with lots of potential for wind, solar and hydrogen forms of renewable energy capacity.
The energy crisis is also relevant to the fertilizer shortage, since the rise in energy prices has had a correlative effect on both the availability and affordability of global fertilizer supplies around the world. The three MENA fertilizer producers introduced in this writing are projected to contribute to global food security for the developing world in unique ways.
