Three Newbie Tips for Those Who Want to Earn Money Online
Not actively writing but earned $2k last year
Most people want to make money. It is more enticing when it can be done anytime you want without being limited to any timeframe.
When I learned about people sourcing income online, I told myself I like that too!
As an accountant, I am pretty skeptical about moneymaking articles I see on the web. My impression of generating income online was limited before. I thought it was like a hoax campaign for other marketers to earn money from you.
Online courses were prevalent at some point in time. My view on that is that I thought that everything about that was a lie.
Find that perfect match
I knew vloggers are earning money on YouTube. I did videos and uploaded them — but after loading ten videos — I felt exhausted creating content. It was so time-consuming to edit.
I thought facing the camera was something that I was excited to do. After a few uploads, I decided to let it go.
You can earn through the partner program of YouTube through channel memberships.
Based on my latest check, you must have more than 1,000 subscribers to be qualified for the same. The payment system would also require specific view count requirements, provided I have a lot on my plate already — I deem that this option was too much for me.
At the time of lockdown, I was able to bump into this platform. I saw many write-ups telling readers about being paid in the first month of their writing.
I would see people sharing screenshots about their first three months of writing. The pay was not material because they were merely starting. But what enticed me is that regardless of the — pay being menial during their first month, the platform is real.
The requirements at the time were easy. Once you become a member — you can start creating content and market your work to readers to earn
While writing this, the requirements changed. It is a must that you post one story as a requisite for their program. On top of that, you need to build 100 followers as a minimum, and to keep earning — you need to post at least one article semi-annually. Say YouTube has light requirements as this platform. I would still choose the latter since this fits my life and schedule.
I have been actively writing short-form content on LinkedIn since 2018 without getting paid. And to be doing this on this platform was perfect for me.
So if I have persuaded you to start writing online to get started, here are things that you must do:
Frictionless is the way to go
It is easy to create content that you are passionate about — or you already know.
The effort is less since you would merely write down something that has been in your memory. Write topics that you know a lot denote experience and authority.
Do this more often — your brand will amplify when you stick to this particular theme. Aim to write and publish one article on that subject every single day.
Rub elbows even if you are not comfortable
People love to engage with influencers and be part of that same circle.
Many guys actively comment on influencers’ posts — and they have reasons. The other commenters have lots of time to bash people. They love to hate — and they are want to pull up something to irritate you. As they say, do not feed trolls.
It is nice to leave comments as a new writer to promote yourself to other readers. If your comments are sensible, they will lure people to peak on you and your work.
