Three Holistic Approaches to Help You Remember Why You’re Not Moving Forward

When you find your “why,” you find your “way.”

Have you been living yourself as if you happen to get another shot? Are you living your life allowing opportunities pass you by, hoping there will be another chance tomorrow?

You think you have all the time in the world and there is no need to be in a rush. Or do you live your life thinking, “this is the only time you have, and you take full advantage of it?”

Most people live as if tomorrow is guaranteed. They pass on every opportunity and then wonder why they are stuck.

They worry about failure and what others will think, forgetting that time is passing them by. They forget that they may never get a chance to see tomorrow.

I used to live that life. I would avoid taking risks so I won’t get disappointed when the outcome doesn’t turn out the way I expected. I allowed my brain to convince me that I couldn’t succeed and that there was no chance I could make a difference if I tried.

It takes courage to endure the sharp pains of discovering our roadblocks. We would instead remain complacent than taking the dull pain of unconscious self-awakening that will unlock a life-changing dream.

“Life is a school where you learn how to remember what your soul already knows.”

If you want to remember why your life isn’t improving, start with thinking back to the things that have impacted you, even from childhood.

If you haven’t started journaling already, I believe this is a great time to start. Ask yourself deep questions about your upbringing and revisit the critical milestones of your earlier years. It will help you better understand what drives you.

Getting to know yourself can also be one of the most liberating and rewarding experiences that you’ll ever have.

It can help to free you from the influence and expectations of others, so you can start living a life that’s true to who you are at your core.

“You find peace not by rearranging the circumstances of your life, but by realizing who you are at the deepest level.”

The next step is to connect who you are with who you want to be. It can be uncomfortable when you begin to travel down memory lane because it forces you to acknowledge realities about yourself that you might have been avoiding.

You must permit yourself to accept where you have been and what you want out of life, regardless of if you think it’s obtainable.

Pay attention to your emotions as you create your fantasy world. Think about the things that excite you, what makes you feel hopeful, your dreams, and your desires. Feeling these emotions as they ignite the hunger to take action is what you need to unlock yourself.

“Until you find yourself you will always be someone else. Become yourself.”

When searching for meaning and purpose in your life, one of the most important questions you can ask yourself is: “Is this the life I want?” “What do I need?” “What am I passionate about?”

Focusing on your passions and interests will make you feel energized, motivated, and fulfilled in life and can be a big factor in getting you out of bed every day.

By learning more about yourself, you discover new things about yourself and what you want to pursue.

So today, you can start exploring your brain to discover what it can achieve by using self-development materials, books, podcasts, or by attending seminars and online courses.

The most important thing to keep in mind, however, is that this is a journey of self-awakening rather than a destination you arrive at.

Our world changes fast, and to discover ourselves and move with change, we need to develop the work and life skills to get about.

Final thoughts

Finding out more about who we are, what drives us, and what our life purpose is is not just a once-in-a-lifetime event. It is a continuous journey.

If so, take comfort in knowing that just as self-love looks, feels, and develops in completely different ways from person to person, so does learning about yourself.

And as we enter new stages of life, we will often discover new truths about ourselves, some of which may surprise us.
