threads
a poem
Fragile threads Stretch over miles To connect them. Her heart Is warm and glowing At times. Radiating intense love For that man So far away.
But the distance Can cause her heart To be brittle, Fragile, uncertain. Distant memories Of times long past Taint her love. The distance And the almost forgotten pain Stretching Those fragile threads Connecting them both.
This poem was written at a time of intense pain and longing. Finding love, burning with passion but with a physical distance between can be a fickle beast to tame as doubt and fear creep in. During this period of time in my life, I often felt taut, stretched, brittle. Like life was testing me, proving to me I needed to make decisions to ensure I could feel whole once more.
