Thoughts On Cancer As King Charles Got His Diagnosis
The more cancer awareness better
I am not fan of the British royal family or anything like that, but sure, I have been exposed to their updates all my life.
When King Charles was treated for prostate enlargement few weeks back, I could relate to it. Because my father-in-law had similar diagnosis and he had asked me to interpret his lab results.
Today, I read the news of Charles’s cancer.
Cancer is tough on anybody. Poor or rich.
The unpredictability and long therapeutic regimen makes cancer so fearsome!
But, it can’t be denied that having the best medical care and not having to worry about the treatment cost is a huge relief.
We, working class people don’t have that luxury.
If we come across a cancer diagnosis, our world shakes.
We worry first, how to arrange money for treatment? What will happen to my dependents, in case..?
So, as commoners, we must arm ourselves with knowledge to prevent cancer. It’s good news that cancer can be avoided by awareness and discipline.
I will fight with you if you expose me to unnecessary fragrance. I will refuse to be near you, or go to your house or continue in your job.
Yes, as an immigrant, responsible for myself, and as a mother of young kids, I will do anything to stay healthy.
I am okay with eventual mortality but not okay with ruining my health because of the ignorance of others.
The odor molecules are hormone disrupters and inflammatory agents. They can trigger cancer!
I was mulling quitting a job, but when the boss hired a janitor who used heavily-fragrant cleaning products, I resigned without a second thought.
I must say, if I am quite healthy today, its because my spouse agreed to keep the house as chemical-free as possible.
Remember, cancer is largely preventable.
In a business-driven world, not many will tell you about the risks of consumer products, but a researcher can.
Its up to you to take advantage of the information.
Next time, before drenching the fragrant thing on you, ask yourself ‘do I really need it?’
