Those Tulip Days

Poetry

Source

Those tulip days play like children, winding through lost hours of crimson red and midnight black, swooning to the sun’s glare. Ancient whiles when small feet through tall flowers twined and leaped into endless bouquets sway along the banks and fields and trundle along dirt lanes of tan and gold.

Oft we’d amble, bright as beams, to stretch our limbs into the wheat and let the seeds caress our skin. Nature’s bold arms are with me still, wrapped around my ankles, grounding night to day as I spread deep roots through rich soil and clasp the last rays to meet life’s cusp.
