Those Pesky Emotions That Won’t Let You Move On
Post-breakup, one very compelling reason exes get back together is, they continue to experience lingering feelings and they start second-guessing the decision to break up in the first place.
Some of the usual signs of these feelings that won’t go away are:
- nostalgia,
- constantly checking up on the ex’s social media,
- always talking about them,
- always trying to set up “chance” meetings,
- always comparing the ex with others,
- hanging on to an ex’s stuff.
Please note: there can be lots of different emotions post-breakup like love, lust, anger, sense of loss, sadness, etc, and these emotions can get all jumbled up. So it’s always a good idea for exes to properly categorize their feelings.
Moving on from a breakup will take time (up to 18 months by some estimates) but if these feelings persist it may be a good idea to talk to a professional. In the meantime, it would help exes to open their eyes and see the good in others, get rid of their ex’s stuff, stop following them on social media, and remember you’re exes for a reason(s).
